Silver bracelet

Last Saturday I went on another Silver jewellery making course at Making Space. I made a bracelet. I have not quite mastered the art of taking close up pictures, my camera does not seem to be able to focus. Interestingly though this picture was taken on my phone and is much better. I opted to make a twisting bracelet, last time I made a ring and really a bracelet is just a big ring. So I wanted to learn something new and correct previous mistakes. Last time I printed a pattern on and it was not very obvious in the finished product so I had to hammer on a new design on top. So here I used lace to print the design on the bracelet, but made sure it was well defined before twisting the silver.

I am impressed with the results. I still have not mastered the art of making a smooth joint though. I think I need lots of practice with that.

I had lots of ideas for this class and wanted to do much more. At this stage though I am trying to focus on learning the techniques. After I had finished my bracelet I had a go at making a copper bracelet to. I went twisting mad! It was too much fun.
